I'm Teaching Workshops in Eugene and Chicago

Devon Boorman ·

If you live in Eugene, Oregon or Chicago, Illinois I'll be in your area in the next few weeks teaching workshops on Italian Knife, Longsword, Sidesword, and Rapier.

This weekend on Saturday the 27th I'll be visiting Northwest Fencing Academy in Eugene Oregon to teach two workshops, one on Italian Knife and the second on Italian Longsword. You can read about the workshops and sign up for them on the Northwest Academy's website.

In November from the 9th to the 11th I'll be in the Chicago area at the Knowne World Academy of the Rapier (KWAR), a rapier symposium hosted by the Society for Creative Anachronism. This event is open to non-sca members as well and has quite a lineup for historical fencing topics with the rapier as well as with other medieval and renaissance disciplines. I'll be teaching a workshop on rapier body mechanics and strategy as well as one on Bolognese sidesword. You can read more about both of these workshops on the KWAR website.

If you instead find yourself on the west coast on that same weekend, you may want to join in on a different workshop taught by my friend and colleague Guy Windsor from School of the Sword in Helsinki Finland. On November 10th and 11th Guy will be teaching a 2 day seminar at Lonin in Seattle. The topic will be combative application of Italian longsword techniques. If you're able to take part, I highly recommend it. You can find more details on their website.
